Job & Internship Opportunities
Are you interested in working with the Open Hands Initiative? At the current time, we are actively seeking interns for the summer and fall semesters. Internships with the Open Hands Initiative are designed to provide hands-on experience at an international non-profit organization, and are ideally suited for college and graduate students pursuing careers in international relations or a related field. Our internships are offered on a semester basis in our New York office.
Position Summary:
Responsibilities include contributing to the organization’s social media activities, providing logistics and operations support for our events and programs, and more.
Requirements: Candidates should be undergraduates (seniors preferred) or graduate students studying international relations, diplomacy, public affairs or a related discipline. Strong written communication skills, professionalism, and a willingness to learn are essential. A demonstrated interest or experience in international affairs, volunteerism, non-profit work, or any of our geographic or program areas is a plus, while a desire to improve people-to-people relationships across borders is critical. Foreign language skills are highly desirable.
Commitment: The internship start and end dates are flexible, along with scheduling; however, we require a minimum commitment of 15 to 20 hours per week in our office. While this is an unpaid internship, it is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience.
How to apply: Please send a cover letter and resume by email to ttrombetta@openhandsinitiative.org. We are accepting applications on a rolling basis. Only qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview.
